Nach Erdbeben fehlen Schadensinformationen zur Menschenrettung sowie dem effizienten Ressourceneinsatz. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, einen interdisziplinären Beitrag zur Bereitstellung von schnellen und zuverlässigen Schadensinformationen zu leisten. Dazu wird ein multiskalarer Ansatz zur Ableitung von Fragilitätskurven entwickelt. Zudem werden Schadenskataloge für diverse Materialien erstellt, welche die Basis zur Klassifizierung von Erdbebenschäden auf Basis von luftgestützten Aufnahmen bilden.
Following seismic events, there is often a lack of damage data, which impedes the rescue of lives and the effective deployment of resources. The objective of this thesis is to make an interdisciplinary contribution to the provision of rapid and reliable damage information. A multiscale approach is proposed to derive fragility curves. Additionally, damage catalogues for different materials are developed, which form the basis for classifying earthquake damage based on UAV-derived imagery.

The load-carrying capacity of connections with inclined screws can be increased due to friction in the shear plane. Surface modifications to increase the friction were investigated. Friction tests showed increased friction coefficients. Tests with connections showed increased load and stiffness values. An analytical model predicts the load well. This work provides insights into the short-term and long-term behaviour of connections with inclined screws and increased friction in the shear plane.

In this work, disruptions and dispositions in public transport are analysed using different methods. Interviews and observations are conducted within control centres and data from the ITCS is analysed. From this, influencing factors on the scheduling of public transport are derived. The main finding is that the interaction with motorised private transport has a decisive influence on the reliability of public transport.

In this work, the damping properties of adhesively bonded joints are investigated numerically, experimentally and analytically. In numerical investigations on steel structures, the potential of bonded joints to optimise the structural dynamics is demonstrated. The damping properties of bonded joints are determined in experimental investigations. The development of a methodology for the analytical identification of functional relationships between the test results is a further focus of the work.

Railway bridges are subject to dynamic loads caused by train crossings. To assess the risk of resonance, the dynamic properties are analysed using FE simulations. The identification of the dynamic system often proves to be difficult. In this thesis, the material-related influencing factors and the influence of the soil-structure interaction on the dynamic characteristics of railway portal frame bridges are investigated. Based on this, a calculation model is developed.

The origin of secondary currents and subaqueous sediment patterns in natural rivers is analysed from first principles. For this purpose, simulations of sediment transport in canonical turbulent open channel flows are performed using a numerical technique that resolves all relevant flow scales and the dynamics of the individual sand grains. The high-fidelity datasets reveal the fundamental importance of individual coherent structures for the development of sediment patterns and secondary flows.
